Steve Vinson
I am the Arson Reduction Officer for Sheffield District working for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. My job is to reduce the amount of deliberate fires in the Sheffield District.I have been in the fire service for 24 years, as a firefighter and now as the Arson Reduction Officer. I enjoy my role immensely and can see the benefits of performing the role that I do for members of the public, and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
I work closely with SYP, and am currently seconded to Woodhouse police station, where I work closely with the SNTs there. I am also seconded to Ecclesfield ( Oxspring Bank) police station working closely with the Safer Neighbourhood Officer Lisa Casey and the SNT at thIs location. I have become a link between the fire service and other agencies, not just for arson issues. I will always forward on requests from groups, agencies, individuals to the relevant person in South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue.
