Courts Enforcement Officer and PCSO Supervisor Richard Kearney
Both the Courts and Police use fines and fixed penalty notices to deal with a variety of offences.
Non-Payment of Fines Warrants are issued when defendants who have been subject to a financial penalty for an offence, fail to pay it.
These warrants will last until the fine is paid or until the defendant is brought before a court.
Recently Wentworth South Police Community Support Officers have worked in partnership with Court's Warrant Officers to locate these offenders.
The knowledge of local officers makes finding offenders much easier especially with people who have given false addresses or who have moved.
Over the last month The SNT working with the Courts Enforcement Officer have Arrested 24 People with outstanding fines totalling £10370.88. 10 People were sent to court with fines totalling £10,155 and 17 people paid their fines in full to avoid further action totalling £2035.92.
These operations and Partnership working will continue to ensure that penalties issued by the Courts and Police are paid in full and offenders brought to justice.
