Officers from Woodhouse & Mosborough Safer Neighbourhood Area have conducted a further test purchase operation on the 24.1.2012.
Using local volunteers (under 18 years of age), licensed premises have been visited and the volunteer has attempted to purchase alcohol in local public houses, admitting their true age only if challenged by the seller. Out of the six premises visited 5 passed refusing to sell alcohol whilst one did sell to the volunteers. The seller was issued a fixed penalty notice for the offence in addition to the central licencing department being liaised with.
Further test purchases will continue to take place to ensure the vigilance of licenced premise staff.
