Pupils at local comprehensive schools have recently been given the opportunity to enter a competition, for designing the new artwork for the Wentworth North Safer Neighbourhood team Mobile Police station, which is currently being rennovated.  The reward for this was a visit to see the force helicpoter.

On Wednesday 30th June 2010, 4 young people from St Pius and Wath Comprehensive School visited South Yorkshire Police Helicopter site in Sheffield.  Pupils Ben, Ellis, Chloe and Shaun went along in company with schools officer PC Craig White .

The young people had the opportunity to sit inside SY99 and have their photographs taken. Whilst on the visit the helicopter team received an emergency call and had to launch within minutes. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed their positive experience with South Yorkshire Police and have a greater understanding of its role.
