Feedback obtained at PACT meetings, from community drop in meetings and incidents reported to Police show that there are repeat complaints of nuisance off road motorcycles and quad bikes in Armthorpe. Hotspots for recent complaints have been Mere Lane, Dickan Gardens and Hallcroft Drive.

We did: 

5th May 2011 - Priority adopted after PACT meeting held this evening. Residents were asked to ensure that incidents were reported to us as and when they occur and not to wait until after they the riders had gone. We would ask the local community to give us any information about who the riders of these machines are, along with any addresses where machines are being kept. The Safer Neighbourhood Team will be working alongside colleagues from Environmental Health, utilising powers under the Police Reform Act to seize any machines being used in an anti social manner.At 7.45pm this evening, a complaint was received from a resident in Dickan Gardens about a bike being used on nearby fields. PC Lightfoot attended and made a search of the area but the bike and rider had already left. Passing attention was given to the area for the remainder of the shift. At 6pm the same evening, a complaint was received about a motorcycle speeding along Hallcroft Drive and onto the footpath. Officers attended and made a search of the locality but the bike had gone.

6th May 2011 - PC Lightfoot and PC Pescador-Smith carried out patrols of the hotspot locations this afternoon and into the evening. The area was quiet on each visit and no incidents were reported.

7th and 8th May 2011 - Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team patrolled the hotspot locations during the evening and overnight this weekend. No incidents were reported. There was no evidence of off road motorcycle nuisance when they visited each time.

9th May 2011 - PCSO Hamill carried out a cycle patrol of the hotspot locations between 9am and 4pm today. Doncaster Neighbourhood Response Team also patrolled the area throughout the evening and overnight. There were no reported incidents or crimes.

10th May 2011 - Cycle patrols carried out by PCSO Hamill throughout the day, with no reported incidents and no evidence of off-road motorcycles. Neighbourhood Response Team patrolled during the early evening with no reports.

11th May 2011 - Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out foot and cycle patrols of the area today between 8.30am and 4.30pm. No incidents or reports of anti-social behaviour or nuisance motorcycles.

12th May 2011 - PCSO Hamill conducted a cycle patrol of the targeted area throughout the day at non specific times. On each occasion there was no evidence of any off-road nuisance motorcycles or any reported incidents. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team conducted patrols during the early evening with no incidents.

13th May 2011 - Dedicated cycle patrols of the area conducted by PCSO Hamill at various times between 8.30am and 5pm today. Mobile patrols carried out by other officers throughout the day. Additionally, Special Constables Roughton & Turner conducted foot patrols of the priority area between 6.30pm and 10.00pm. No reported incidents or evidence of Anti-social behaviour. Evening patrols carried out by the Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team with no sightings.

14th & 15th May 2011 - Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team patrolled the hotspot areas over the weekend during the early evening and overnight. There was one reported incident of a nuisance off road m/cycle on Mere lane. Details of the cycle taken and enquiries ongoing to identify the rider. No other incidents.

16th May 2011 - Foot patrol of the hotspot areas conducted from 3pm by PC Lightfoot & PCSO Hamill. An offroad motorcycle was spotted in the vicinity and as a result a PCSO from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team detained a 19yr old male with a motorbike. Following an assault on the Officer the male made good his escape. Resources from the Doncaster District were involved in the apprehension of the male. Two hours later the male was arrested and later released on bail. His motorcycle was recovered and evidence gained indicates that the male will be charged when he returns to the Police Station. Officers involved in the investigation worked through to the early hours.

17th May 2011 - Dedicated foot and mobile patrols by the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted today of the hotspot locations. Times patrolled, 3.00 & 5.00pm and later between 6.00pm & 9.00pm. No reported incidents of anti-social behaviour and no sightings of motorcycles.

18th May 2011 - PCSO Turton & Fletcher conducted directed patrols of the area today between 5.00pm & 7.00pm. No reports of anti-social behaviour and no sightings of any off-road motorcycles. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team patrolled during the early evening with no incidents of note.

19th May 2011 - Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out foot patrols today between 4.30 & 6.00pm and later between 7.00 & 8.45pm. There were no incidents of anti-social behaviour and no sightings of such. The Council Neighbourhood Response Team conducted further patrols during the late evening with nothing to report.

20th May 2011 - Directed foot and mobile patrols of the hotspot locations conducted today by the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhoood Team. Patrols conducted between 2.00pm & 5.00pm and later between 7.30pm & 9.00pm. No incidents to note and no sightings of nuisance motorcycles. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team carried out patrols during the late evening with no sightings or reports. 

21st May 2011 - Incident reported at 8.30am of a nuisance motorcycle on Mere Lane. Male aged 16/17yrs travelling towards Doncaster Rd. Full search of the area by 2 District Patrol vehicles, however the motorcycle was not sighted again. Details handed to the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team to continue enquiries. Mobile patrols of the hotspot locations conducted between 2.30pm & 4.30pm and later between 6.30pm & 8.00pm. No sightings and no reports taken.

22nd May 2011 - Pre-planned joint Operation with Environmental health targeting off-road motorcycles within the priority areas. The Operation was conducted between 9.30am & 4pm. Mobile patrols in marked Police vehicles and unmarked Environmental Health vehicles were utilised. The vehicles were fitted with a surveillance capability. Despite positive results in other areas of Armthorpe, there were no sightings of off-road motorcycles within this target area.

23rd & 24th May 2011 - Directed patrols of the priority areas conducted by the Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team throughout the late evening and overnight. District Patrol officers patrolled the areas throughout the day. No incidents reported and no anti-social behaviour.

25th May 2011 - Officers and staff at the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted foot & mobile patrols of the hotspot locations today. Hours patrolled from 9.45am - 11.00am & later from 2.00pm - 3.45pm. No incidents to report and no activity relating to anti-social behaviour. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team carried out patrols throughout the early evening with no incidents reported.

26th May 2011 - Foot and mobile patrols of the hotspot locations carried out today during the following periods. 10.30am - 12.30pm and later between 2.00pm - 3.30pm. No incidents reported and no crimes reported. Special Constable Bust conducted foot patrols of the areas later that day between 5.00pm - 10.00pm. Again no reports taken and no anti social behaviour witnessed.

27th May 2011 - PC Lightfoot from Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out cycle patrols of this area during the afternoon and evening. Hotspot locations were visited frequently and no off road motorcycles or quad bikes were noted. PC Lightfoot did, however, respond to a complaint about an off road bike being used in Kirk Sandall at 9.30pm. It is known that these machines often use the connecting pathways and fields to travel between Armthorpe and Kirk Sandall/Edenthorpe.Observations were kept in the area around Dentons Green Lane and a short while later, officers entered a garage to a dwelling on the street, seizing  a motorcycle under the Police Reform Act.

28th May 2011 - PC Lightfoot from Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out cycle patrols of the area this afternoon and evening. Specific attention was paid to hotspot areas. No incidents were reported during the day. Repeat patrols did not find any off road bikes being used in the area. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team also patrolled this area overnight. Again, no incidents were discovered or reported.

29th May 2011 - PC Lightfoot from Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out cycle patrols today between 10am and 1pm and again between 4pm and 6pm. No evidence of off road bikes being used was found. No incidents were reported. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team patrolled the same area during the evening and overnight. No incidents occurred.

30th May and 31st May 2011 - Patrols of this area were carried out during the evening and overnight by Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team. The team patrolled the area in a CCTV vehicle. No incidents were reported or discovered.

1st June 2011 - PC Lightfoot and PCSO Hamill carried out foot and mobile patrols of the locality today. A number of calls were received about a small red off road motorcycle being seen in Beech Road and on Mere Lane. Similar complaints were received about a bike in Cedric Road, Edenthorpe. This was between 12 noon and 4pm. Officers made a search for the bike but didn't locate it. However, enquiries are ongoing with a named address in Armthorpe. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team officers also carried out mobile patrols in the area overnight. No incidents were reported or discovered.

2nd June 2011 - At the PACT meeting held this afternoon, residents were updated about action taken. It was reiterated that residents should contact Police on each occasion when any off road bikes are seen in the area. PCSO Hamill carried out cycle patrols of the area this afternoon between 4pm and 5.30pm and again between 6.30pm and 9pm. No incidents were reported and no off road bikes were discovered.

3rd June 2011 - PCSO Hamill conducted cycle patrols of the hotspot locations today between 9.30am - 11.00am. Later in the afternoon further cycle patrols were conducted by PC Lightfoot and PCSO Hamill  between 2.00pm - 3.30pm. Throughout the day there were no reports of anti-social behaviour and no crimes reported. During the evening and overnight further patrols were conducted by the Council Neighbourhood Response Team, again no reports taken.

4th & 5th June 2011 - Over the weekend, directed patrols were conducted by the Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team using their cctv vehicle. District Patrol officers using high visibility vehicles patrolled throughout the day. No reports were taken and there were no reported crimes.

6th June 2011 - Directed cycle patrols of the priority areas were conducted today by PCSO Hamill between 9.00am - 11.30am and later between 2.00pm - 3.45pm. Staff from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted further patrols throughout the day. There have been no reported incidents of anti-social behaviour and no crime overnight. No sightings of off-road motorcycles.

7th June 2011 - Officers and staff from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted mobile patrols throughout today during the specific periods. 9.30am - 11.30am & later between 1.00pm-4.30pm. PCSO Hamill conducted a cycle patrol throughout the shift. No reported incidents and no crimes taken. No evidence of off-road motorcycles. The Doncaster Neighbourhood Response Team carried out mobile patrols during the late evening with no incidents of note.

8th June 2011 - PCSO Hamill from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted cycle patrols of the hotspot areas today during the following periods- 9.15am - 11.30am and later between 2.00pm - 3.30pm. Later during the evening the Council Neighbourhood Response Team conducted further directed patrols. There have been no reported incidents within the PACT area and no reported crimes.

9th June 2011 - Cycle patrols carried out today around the PACT area by PCSO Hamill. Details of the patrol times were as follows, 10.00am - 11.30am & later between 1.30pm - 3.15pm. Full sweep of the area conducted and no evidence of anti-social behaviour. No reported incidents and no crimes overnight. Further Directed patrols conducted during the late evening by the Council Neighbourhood Response Team with no issues reported.

10th June 2011 - PCSO Hamill from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team, conducted cycle patrols of the PACT area today. The patrols were completed between, 9.30am - 11.30am and no reports taken of anti-social behaviour. Further patrols of the hotspot areas completed by the Council Neighbourhood Response Team overnight.

11th & 12th June 2011 - Directed patrols conducted over the weekend by the Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team and District Patrol officers. No incidents of note in relation to Anti-social behaviour and no reported crimes. Members of the public are still advised to call in any observations of off-road motorcycles or any other anti-social behaviour.

13th June 2011 - No reported incidents overnight within the PACT area and no reported crimes. APS Lightfoot & PCSO Hamill from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted cycle patrols today around the hotspot areas. Times patrolled were 3.30pm - 5.15pm & later between 6.45pm - 8.45pm. A number of stop checks were carried out but there were no issues relating to anti-social behaviour.

14th June 2011 - Cycle patrols of the PACT area today by PCSO Hamill. At 3.00pm a report of burglary was taken on Dickan Gardens. This has occurred sometime since the 10th June. Police crime scene investigators and burglary team officers have attended. Enquiries have commenced to locate the offenders. Directed patrols throughout the afternoon.

15th June 2011 - PCSO Hamill carried out cycle patrols around the priority areas today during the following periods: 15.00-17.00hrs & 7.00pm - 9.30pm. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team conducted further patrols throughout the evening with no incidents reported and no crimes occurring.

16th June 2011 - Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team staff and officers carried out patrols around the estate during the afternoon and early evening. The Council Neighbourhood Response Team conducted late evening patrols around the PACT area. No reported problems or anti-social behaviour.

17th June 2011 - Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team officers carried out foot patrols in the priority area this afternoon and into the evening. The Neighbourhood Response Team also patrolled overnight in a CCTV vehicle. No incidents were reported or discovered.

18th and 19th June 2011 - Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team carried out mobile patrols during the evening and overnight in the locality. There were no incidents reported and no evidence of off road bikes being used one each visit.

20th June 2011 - Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team once again patrolled during the evening and overnight. No incidents were reported and no evidence of off road bikes being used.

21st June 2011 - PCSO Hamill from Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out cycle patrols of the locality during the day, between 10.45 and 12.30 and again between 2.45 and 3.30pm. No incidents were reported or discovered.  

22nd June 2011 - Cycle patrol conducted today by PCSO Hamill, covering the hotspot areas. Staff from The Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted mobile patrols throughout the day. No reported issues or anti-social related problems.

23rd June 2011 - No reported anti-social incidents or crimes occurring overnight. During today a cycle patrol has been conducted by PCSO Hamill covering the Priority area.

24rd June 2011 - Directed cycle patrols around the Hotspot areas today by PCSO Hamill during the following times; 2.00pm - 5.00pm & later in the evening between 7.00pm - 9.30pm. A small group of youths were spoken to but no problems or issues relating to anti-social behaviour. No evidence or sightings of off-road motorcycles. Overnight patrols by the Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team.

25th June 2011 - No reported problems overnight and cycle patrols conducted today by PCSO Hamill around the PACT area. Patrol times were 12.30pm - 4.00pm  with no problems identified.

26th/27th/28th June 2011 - Mobile patrols conducted over the weekend by the Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team using CCTV vehicles around the priority area. No reported problems or issues highlighted.

29th June 2011 - High visibility mobile patrols conducted today by staff from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team. No reported problems regarding nuisance motorcycles and no incidents of anti social behaviour .

30th June 2011 - Directed mobile patrols conducted today by officers from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team covering the hotspot locations. Patrols conducted between the hours of 2.30pm - 5.00pm & later between 7.30pm - 9.00pm. No incidents of note and no reported crimes.

1st July 2011 - No reported incidents or crimes overnight. Hi-visibility patrols carried out today by staff from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team. At 8.30pm patrols observed 2 off-road motorcycles with youths riding without helmets. A co-ordinated approach by officers recovered a motorcycle and a short foot pursuit resulted in 2 youths being apprehended. The motorcycle has been seized and the youths reported for several offences.

2nd & 3rd July 2011 - Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team carried out mobile patrols during the evening and overnight in the locality. There were no incidents reported and no evidence of off road bikes being used on each visit.

4th July 2011 - Officers and staff from the Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted foot & mobile patrols of the hotspot locations today. Hours patrolled from 9.45am - 11.00am & later from 2.00pm - 3.45pm. No incidents to report and no activity relating to anti-social behaviour. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team carried out patrols throughout the early evening with no incidents reported.

5th July 2011 - PCSO Hamill and PC Lightfoot carried out cycle patrols of the locality during the day today. No evidence of off road motorcycles was found. Checks were also made nearby of the old pit top site and surrounding area. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team also carried out patrols overnight and no incidents were reported or discovered.

6th July 2011 - PCSO Hamill carried out cycle patrols of the locality between 9.30am and 10.45am and again between 2.30pm and 4pm. no incidents were reported. No off road bikes were located.

7th July 2011 - Directed high visibility patrols today by PCSO Hamill during the following periods. 9.30-11.30am & later between 1.30-2.45pm. No reported problems or incidents regarding anti-social behaviour.It was agreed to retain this priority at the PACT meeting held this evening.

8th July 2011 - No reported incidents overnight and patrols conducted during the late evening by The Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team.

9th & 10th July 2011 - Directed patrols over the weekend by Officers from the District Patrol Team. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team carried out patrols overnight with no reported problems or crimes.

11th July 2011 -  PCSO Hamill from the Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out high visibility cycle patrols during the afternoon. There were no reported problems or anti-social behaviour issues.

12th July 2011 - Cycle patrols conducted during the afternoon by PCSO Hamill around the Priority areas. Officers from The Safer Neighbourhood Team carried out high visibility van patrols throughout the late afternoon and early evening

13th July 2011 - Cycle patrols carried out this afternoon by PCSO Hamill around the locality. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team also patrolled during the evening and overnight. No incidents were reported or discovered.

14th July 2011 - Cycle patrols carried out once again this afternoon by PCSO Hamill. Checks were made in the locality at different times. No evidence of off road bikes being used was found.

15th July 2011 - Patrols carried out by the SNT throughout the day, no evidence of nuisance motobikes was seen and no reports recieved.

17th July 2011 - No reported incidents overnight and patrols conducted during the late evening by The Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team.

23rd July 2011 - Sergeant Clark and PC Satterley carried out mobile patrols and checks of the area this evening. The locality was quiet on each visit and no incidents were reported.

25th July 2011- Directed patrols over the weekend by Officers from the District Patrol Team. Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team carried out patrols overnight with no reported problems or crimes.

26th July 2011-  Incident reported from P.S Construction , Mere Lane, of cars and a motorbike racing up and down. The district patrol team attended the incident and on arrival there were no vehicles present. An area search was conducted but the vehicles had left the area prior to officers attending. Members of the public were spoken to who stated they had not seen or heard anything.

 27th July 2011- Cycle patrols conducted throughout the day and evening by PCSO Hamill and PCSO Fry.  No evidence of nuisance motorbikes seen and no incidents reported.

 28th July 2011- Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team officers carried out cycle patrols in the priority area this afternoon and into the evening. The Neighbourhood Response Team also patrolled overnight in a CCTV vehicle. No incidents were reported or discovered.

29th July 2011 - PCSO Hamill carried out cycle patrols in the local area this afternoon and into the evening. No off road motorcycles were seen and no incidents were reported.

30th and 31st July 2011 - Patrols carried out by Doncaster Council Neighbourhood Response Team over the weekend. There were no reported incidents of off road motorcycle nuisance.

1st August 2011-Cycle patrols conducted throughout the day  by PCSO Hamill and PCSO Fry.  No evidence of nuisance motorbikes seen and no incidents reported

 2nd August 2011-  Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team officers carried out cycle patrols in the priority area this afternoon. The Neighbourhood Response Team also patrolled overnight in a CCTV vehicle. No incidents were reported or discovered.

 3rd August 2011 - Cycle patrols conducted throughout the day  by PCSO Hamill and PCSO Fry.  No evidence of nuisance motorbikes seen and no incidents reported.

4th August 2011 - This priority was discussed at the PACT meeting held this afternoon. In view of the reduction in reported incidents, it was agreed to close this priority as completed.
