We have continued to patrol the area during Halloween and Bonfire night period. There have been no particular issues reported during this time.
Ins J Booth and PC Lockwood have met with Sheffield Licensing to discuss licensing issus in Beighton in general.
Test Purchase operations have been conducted in number across the SNA in general. Premises in Beighton have been tested and they have passed on each occasion.
Update 291010;
Approximately 30 people attended the public meeting on 271010 inclucing a Sheffield Futures worker and 8 young people.
A presentation was given by Nicola Kirkham who has been involved in previous "Rock" projects and the setting up of youth clubs.
The meeting was positive with funding secure for initial meetings of the youths club as well as support from trained youth workers.
Work that still needs to be done is the setting up of a Constitution- rules and regulations.
Volunteers are urgently required for the ongoing running of the club. It is planned that it will open 1 night per week and that will probably be a Wednesday. Volunteers are also required for the Chair, Treasurer and Secretary of the club. The local PCSO John Rusell has been out and about in the area delivering letters to the local residents about the upcoming meeting on 27 October 2010 so that they are aware of what is planned. Whilst doing this he will also be aiming to complete SNTquestionnaires to check with the residents what they feel the current issues are.

From yesterdays SNT activity- Downloading/ reviewing CCTV from Mocam following reported incident of ASB on High Street-PC 517 Lockwood.
PACT area checked speicifically at 9pm by patrolling officers- all quiet at this time.
Update 111010 (further);
An operation was completed on Friday 011010 to address anti-social behaviour in the Beighton area. The operation involved staff from the Road Crime Unit, the Special Constabulary, Woodhouse/ Mosborough Safer Neighbourhood Team and Neighbourhood Patrol Group. All officers worked alongside detached youth workers to provide drug and alcohol related advice.
Results included;
3 searches on Beighton High Street.
A group of 12 youths were stopped by biker PCSOs on Beighton High Street also, 2 X 1.5 litre bottles of Lambrini seized. Details were taken and follow up visits will be done with parents of the youths.
One male was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis.
3 further youths were stopped and accounted plus one youth was searched on Lilac Road.
2x Parking advisory notices were also issued to vehicles that were parked inappropriately.
14 fixed penalty notices, 4 of which involved penalty points being added to the car owners driving licence
2 dangerous vehicles were also examined and relevant notices given.
One male was arrested for drink driving.
Numerous youths were spoken to in Sothall Park by officers from the Special Constabulary. No alcohol or misbehaviour seen.

The monthly community meeting was held at Peaks College on 7 October 2010. It was decided at that meeting that this should remain as a priority for the SNT until the next meeting on 11 November 2010.

Residents and young people are invited to a community meeting at the Miners Welfare, High Street Beighton at 7.30pm on Wednesday 27 October 2010.
This meeting is to discuss the setting up of a youth club for the young people of Beighton. There will be a guest speaker who was involved in the setting up of the "Rock Cafe" in Dinnington. This is a successful project which is also involved in a youth club at Woodseats.
Considerable work has been done in relation to this project already with assistance being sought from the South East Assembly for funding. A potential venue has already been identified.
It is planned that the youth club will be open on a Wednesday night for 2 hours between 7 x 9pm.
The aim of the meeting is a constructive discussion with everyone having the chance to give their opinion about how the community can work together to address the problems.
Volunteers are being sought to help run the youth club but also assist with the committee.

Update 290910.
Inspector Booth and PC 517 Lockwood from the Safer Neighbourhood Team attended Sheffield Magistrates Court on 27 September 2010. This was in relation to the revocation of the licence of one of the local off-licences within the PACT area. This date had been set for the appeal case.
At this time evidence was presented by both parties but the case was adjourned until a later date in January 2011 for further papers to be prepared.
Update 20.09.2010
Additional patrols conducted in the evenings of Friday17th and Saturday 18th September 2010.
A large group moved from the area of the convenience store on Friday night, High Street. A group of youths spoken with near to the miners welfare some where searched and three were found in possession of a small amount of a controlled drug for which they were formally dealt with by the police.

Regular patrols were carried out from 6pm until 12am, no anti-social behaviour seen or reported.

Patrols in the area last night led to the dispersal of a large group of rowdy youths from outside Beighton Convenience store. They were strongly advised about their behaviour.
