We asked:
what issues concerned you most in your area
You said:

The area of Jennings Close, Eastwood received several complaints of Anti-Social Behaviour. Groups of teenagers are congregating in the communal area and causing problems for tennants. This is predominantly during the evenings.

We did:

We contacted the private housing company who own the dwellings and are working together to implement a resolution to the above issues.

There have been improvements to the locks on communal doors.

The residents have been contacted for their views and to remind them not to open the communal doors for anyone other than legitimate visitors.

In addition to this local officers have increased foot patrols during the peak times. A number of local youths have been moved out of the communal stairwells and on two occasions alcohol has been seized from persons under 18.

There has been a reduction in the number of complaints. This is likely to be due to the fact that this is not a summer problem. With the lighter nights and better weather the youths are no longer seeking shelter in the flats.

This issue will continue to be monitored but was replaced at the PACT meeting on 5th May at the Town Hall.
