The area of Longfellow Drive, Herringthorpe has been noted as an area of concern. This is due to receiving numerous complaints from the local residents. These residents are predominantly elderly people and are deemed as vulnerable. The complaints are that groups youths hang around outside peoples houses and generally cause an annoyance.
Staff at Rotherham South have carried various Community 'Walkabouts' in consultation with residents from Longfellow Drive.
These have been carried out with PC's, Pcso's, Housing Officers and Local Councillors.
Staff have also increased foot patrols and essentially are providing a more sustained approach to these problematic issues.
Visits have been made to previous victims of crime and crime reduction advice given.
This priority was replaced at the PACT Meeting on 5th May. Work will continue in this area but it will be incorporated into the long term East Dene Action Plan.
