Tesco/Interchange/Laughton Road - Anti-Social Behaviour

Evenings between 6.00pm and 11.00pm, particularly on Fridays

We did: 

Monday 7th December: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Tuesday 8th December: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Wednesday 9th December: Dinnington Carnival. No reported incidents.

Thursday 10th December: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Friday the 11th Under 18's dance night held at the Lyric Theatre. Majority of young people well behaved but unfortunately one 15 year old male had to be ejected. He then went on to kick the shutters of the shops on Laughton Road before running off when seeing police. Once being spoken to by the Community Support Officers he threw punches cutting the lip and bruising one of the community support officers. He was arrested around the back of the Lyric.

Monday 14th December 2009: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Tuesday 15th December 2009: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Wednesday 16th December 2009: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Thursday 17th December 2009: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Monday 21st December2009: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. One incident reported by First Stop food outlet of youths causing anti-social behaviour inside and outside the premises by causing disruption to staff and throwing snowballs into the premises. Numerous youths present on Police arrival but starburst on seeing the Police vehicle.

Tuesday 22nd December 2009:  Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No reported incidents and no notable groups of youths seen in the area.

Wednesday 23rd December 2009: Laughton Road and the Interchange patrolled on numerous occasions. No youths seen, no incidents reported.

Thursday 24th December 2009: Laughton Road and interchange patrolled on numerous occasions.  No incidents reported.

Sunday 27th December 2009:  Laughton Road and interchange patrolled on numerous occasions.  No incidents reported.

Tuesday 29th December 2009: Laughton Road and interchange patrolled, one incident reported of nuisance youths at Tesco Stores.  Search for youths negative.  CCTV has been viewed and the local SNT are aware of the youths responsible and continue with patrols in the area.  Reassurance visit carried out to Limelands Florist and The Snooker Club on Laughton Road, complaint regarding youths causing damage on Mon 28th December.  Regular ASB patrols and CCTV made aware.

Monday 4th January 2010:  Laughton Road and interchange patrolled on numerous occasions.  No incidents reported.

Wednesday 6th January 2010: Laughton Road patrolled no youths seen no incidents reported. Interchanged no incidents reported but not covered due to heavy snow coverage.

Thursday 7th January 2010:  Laughton Road and interchange patrolled on numerous occasions.  No incidents reported.

Friday 8th January 2010: Area patrolled no youths seen, no incidents reported.

Monday 11th January 2010: Area patrolled. Group of youths spoken to regarding tampering with a bus on the interchange, no incidents reported.

Tuesday 12th January 2010: Area patrolled no youths seen, no incidents reported.

Wednesday 13th January 2010: Area patrolled no youths seen, no incidents reported.

Thursday 14th January 2010: Area patrolled no youths seen, no incidents reported.

Wednesday 20th January 2010: Called to Tesco carpark due to youths congregating on pushbikes. Youths moved off Tesco's but only moved to the public carpark behind the Lyric Theatre and near the Interchange. All youths in good humour but still requesting that they want somewhere to go I.E BMX park/skate park and they have nothing to do.

Thursday 21st January 2010: Area patrolled no youths seen, no incidents reported.

Retained at PACT Meeting on 1st February 2010

w/c 1st February 2010 - area patrolled on a nightly basis, no incidents reported.  Small group of youths spoken to on the car park who were on push bikes, but not causing any issues.  Youths moved on.

Mon 8th February 2010 - Area patrolled, no youths seen, no incidents reported

Tues 9th February 2010 - Area patrolled, no incidents reported, small group of youths sat on market stalls, not causing any problems

Wed 10th February 2010 - Area patrolled, no youths seen, no incidents reported

Thursday 11th February 2010 - Area patrolled, youths spoken to, no incidents reported

Friday 12th February 2010 - Area patrolled, youths spoken to, no incidents reported

Monday 15th February 2010 - Area patrolled, youths spoken to, no incidents reported

Tuesday 16th February 2010 - Area patrolled, youths spoken to, no incidents reported

Wednesday 17th February 2010 - Area patrolled, two incidents of youth nuisance reported at Tesco.  Attended location, youths have left prior to our arrival, no CCTV, area search carried out, group spoken to on Laughton Road who matched description given by staff.  Advised accordingly.

Thursday 18th February 2010 - area patrolled, youths spoken to, no incidents reported

w/c 22 February 2010 - Area patrolled, groups of youths seen in and around the area but not causing any issues.  Detached Youth Workers in the area on 22nd and engaged with youths.

 5.3.10 - At the PACT meeting held at Kiveton and Wales Village Hall on 5.3.10, this priority was combined with the priority of young people causing a nuisance on Falcon Park, to form a single priority area, as both problems involve the same group of young people and therefore the potential solutions are the same.
