what issues concerned you most in your area
Groups of young people gathering on the benches and around the bungalows on Holmes Crescent, drinking alcohol and acting in a rowdy and anti-social manner
Early evening to early hours of the morning
Plan to address:
- Local beat manager, PC 3163 Louise Neal will be the officer responsible for managing and co-ordinating activity to address this problem
- Regular evening patrols will be mounted by Police Officers and Community Support Officers to identify and deal with offenders
- We will visit all residents on Holmes Crescent to offer reassurance and to obtain as much information as possible about the problem
- We will provide a maximum 60 minute response time to any calls made to the Police about problems in this area
- An environmental audit of the area will be conducted to identify why the location is attractive to young people and any potential problems will be addressed. The location of benches has been suggested as one particular problem.
- The provision of diversionary activities for young people in the area will be assessed and any young people we deal with will be signposted to activities that are available
- We will make appropriate referrals of young people to Early Intervention Projects where they can receive advice on how their behaviour effects themselves and others
- We will contact the parents of young people who are found to be causing problems and impress upon them the need to take parental responsibility
