what issues concerned you most in your area
You told us you were concerned about the increase in rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour this time of year, associated with office Christmas parties and end of term time for students.
Every December pubs and clubs are busier due to students having end of term parties, as well as office staff marking the festive season with nights out. This results in more issues relating to drunkeness. The main issues that concern residents include noise nuisance, urinating in public places, litter and increased feelings of fear of crime.
These incidents take place throughout December and start around evening time and can carry on until the early hours of the morning.
An operation has begun this week to deal anti-social behaviour throughout the night. Officers will be on duty from 6pm until 4am in the morning to deal with any issues reported to the SNA or ones they come across whilst on patrol. Please report any instances of ASB to us via the 101 number so we can target hot spot areas.
Licensing officers will be visiting all premises to discuss their plans for the Christmas period and ensure we have appropriate resources for dealing with any special events. We will also be reinforcing messages to the public about personal safety and responsible drinking.
