What issues concerned you most in your area

You said: 

Nuisance Youths, Criminal Damage, Environmental Damage in and around Woodlaithes Village. Between 1800 and 2200 hrs. Priority set at PACT meeting held 07/12/09 at Thrybergh Comprehensive School where around 60 people attended.

We did: 

Nuisance Patrols between 1800 and 2200hrs

  • Following problems the police targetted a small group responsible for causing minor disorder on The Green. Seven young people were arrested for public order offences and will be subected to a Restorative Justice Programme. These youngsters all attend Wickersley Comp. The PYPPO responsible for the school will work with the young people and hopefully divert them from re-offending.
  • The police have increased patrols on certain problematic evening. During the first patrol they spoke with 19 young people. 24 units of alcohol were confiscated. Cigarettes were confiscated. 7 letters were sent to parents in relation to their children drinking alcohol. 2 young people were also taken home for riding bikes without lights.

  • 8/12 Two reassurance visits completed in relation to auto crime on the estate.

  • 8/12 Community Surgery held at Sunnyside Community Centre.

  • On a further 2 separate evenings the PCSO's did additional patrols in and around Woodlaithes and Sunnyside. There was no activity to report. 

  • 15/12 Vehicle seized for having no insurance under operation takeaway.

  • 16/12 Vehicle seized for having no insurance under operation takeaway.

  • 16/12 ASB reported from behind Co-Op. Nine names taken (none from Woodlaithes) and ASB letters sent to parents.

  • Clean up conducted by Streetpride (grot Spot of the Month) at rear of shopping precinct.

  • Letters delivered in and around The Green for Community Meeting at the Sunnyside Community Centre on 22/12/09 @ 1330hrs.

  • 17/12 High visability patrols done by Mounted Section on the Woodlaithes and Bramley area.

  • 17/12 Letter of thanks received for our additional patrols on the estate from a local resident

  • 21/12 Young person dealt with for Section 5 Public Order. He will be subject to Restorative Justice Programme.

  • 26/12 Police attend and resolve neighbour dispute

  • Follwing a series of potential dangerous reports of youths on the lake and liasion with RMBC several warning signs have been sited.

  • 10/01/10 Male arrested for possession of an offensive weapon, namely a Knuckle Duster

  • 4 Anti Social Behaviour Letters sent to parents of youths found causing problems on the estate.
