South Yorkshire Safer Neighbourhood Teams

Sheffield Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNTs) have provided your city's pubs and bars with safer, stronger polycarbonate "glasses". The Good: Polycarbonate drink ware only requires 10% of the manufacturing energy of its glass counterpart. They are stronger and safer than glass; in fact they are virtually indestructible. The Bad:  600,000 tons of glass from the licensed trade is dumped annually into landfills. That is a ¼ of the entire UK’s waste glass. The Ugly: The consequences of glass/bottle attacks can be very serious. Whilst we only have one incident a month in Sheffield city centre, this is still too many.
